Apple Village Arts — Children's Art Classes
Founded/directed by local Artist and Art Educator, Jeanne LaVallee, Apple Village Arts, Inc. is a non-profit Studio Art Program in the East Village which was inaugurated in the Spring of 2010.
There is instruction in the essentials of Drawing, Painting, Collage, Composition and Design for children, ages 5-12. Students also learn about the cultural heritage of the East Village – i.e., that it was once a community of Artists working in many genres including Street Art, Painting, Poetry, Playwriting and Music – by taking walking tours in the neighborhood and by studying the work of those who once lived and worked here.
